Last few days in Texas...

Katie and Maya have left for Florida and I'll be on the road to DC shortly. Here are some pics from the 4th of July, swim class, and the Seattle Marathon.

In Starfish 1 Class, where Maya and a couple other infants learned how to enter and exit the water safely; feel comfortable in the water; explore buoyancy in a front and back position; and change body position in the water. Other than one canceled class due to poop in the pool, Maya had perfect attendance!

Ava and Aron Trull joined the class for a few lessons.

Maya's favorite part was probably warming up in the sun after class and testing her walking skills on the grass. The only thing Maya seems to enjoy more than walking is laughing and smiling. She is truly one happy kid.

We spent the 4th with friends in Crockett, TX, a little town in East Texas. Maya, Katie, Mr. Turner (Susan's dad), Susan, Ginger, and I took the girls' first boat ride on the lake.

Big pools, little pools, Maya does it all.

It was terrific weekend, with lots of food and drink.

The Seattle Marathon was also a HUGE success and a great opportunity to spent time running with Michael Rubio and hanging out with Greg Wong and family. We raised more than $2K to support research to cure and treat Multiple Myeloma, the cancer that Maya's grandpa is courageously fighting.

Katie and I have spent almost five years together in Austin. We've made so many great memories and friends here. Now it's time for new adventures in a new part of the country. Abe, Katie, and I will connect in DC in a few days to finalize our housing situation and hope Maya will join us from Florida soon...
