Shushu's visit

This past weekend, as DC slowly dug out from under 3 feet of snow, Wendy came to visit for a long weekend. It was great timing as the 3 1/2 Tacketts (+ Abe) had literally been homebound for 6 days (except I made it out for an OB appointment - I'm now at 27 weeks, and the littlest Tackett is doing great!) Maya loved having her Shushu around, and she quickly learned that her Shushu is fantastic at playing all sorts of games!

During Wendy's visit, Larkin, Maya, and she (while I snuck out for much-needed time with friends) went to the Natural History Museum, a favorite of ours on cold days.
We also went out to brunch with Tatman and Phillip; Maya Papaya loves spending time with the Savios.
Many walks around the neighborhood were taken (much to the delight of both Abe and Maya.)
And Wendy's visit nicely coincided with Valentine's Day, so Larkin and I were able to go on an actual Valentine's Day date to dinner and the movies - thank you, Wendy! Maya enjoyed reading all of her valentines.
All in all, it was a wonderful visit and couldn't have happened at a better time!

Maya and the Snowpocalypse

It's Sunday morning and we're digging out of yet another snowstorm.

It started sticking late Friday afternoon and snowed constantly for 24 hours.

Maya has enjoyed some extra-curricular activities as well as

her regular routine of naps

and baths.

During the first few hours of the storm we took a walk and ate snow.

A few hours later Maya would have sunk completely.

It took about an hour this morning to scoop out the Prius.

Even Abe (somewhat) enjoyed running through snow in the backyard and chasing our neighbors' cats.

This is the fourth heaviest single snow storm and the second heaviest snow year in the history of DC. Glad we could be a part of it :)
