Tacketts in town (and the new house)

Uncle Benji, Aunt Amy, Grandpaji, Shu-shu (grandma), and cousin Loretta traveled to DC for Labor Day weekend.

Grandpaji spent lots of time on the stoop and did several much-needed "projects" on the house.

Maya loves all the steps inside the new house

and outside (with her favorite animal).
The reflecting pond has steps and ducks too.

Uncle Benji and Aunt Amy took in the sights.
Grandpaji paid his respects to Teddy.

Our house is blocks from Ft. Stevens, the site of a Civil War battle field, where for only the second time a sitting president was fired on during war (James Madison in 1812 was the first).
After a long day of site-seeing, we hung out in the newly remodeled kitchen.

And in the dining room with our neighbors Ricardo and Jen.

Maya got ready for bath time and did the nightly "naked dance" that she learned from her cousins, Jackson and Ali.
She also checked out Loretta's bellybutton (a favorite body part).

The zoo is only a couple miles away.

Maya is a regular.

Here's a random picture of Maya's friend Mae and their nanny Claudia.

Thanks to all the Tacketts for a great weekend and for helping us get settled in the new house and new city.
