Spring has sprung

Spring has finally reached DC - kind of. Today was back in the 50s, but we sure enjoyed yesterday when it hit 75!
The kids and I went to the park at the end of the day. It was packed - I think we are all hungry for some warmth. Maya brought along her baby (the name of baby seems to change daily) to enjoy the playground.

Ben had a great time on the swings.

On the walk home, both kids enjoyed watching the tennis players.
Maya found a tree stump (otherwise known as a "tee stage"). She promptly began entertaining us with a song about a purple flower (video to be uploaded later; she is quite the star in the making.)
Ben enjoyed Maya's performance.
The walk to and from the park was half the fun.
Tonight we went to story time at the library on the DC side of Takoma Park. Every Tuesday night, there is story time with dogs as guests. Tonight's dog's name was Happy.
I would say that Ben seemed to enjoy the story and the dog, but he seems to enjoy just about everything (except sleeping through the night.) He is 10 months and gaining new skills every day. He is now eating finger foods, and his picky eating habits seem to have disappeared (thank goodness.) He also cruises around furniture; he'll be walking soon enough.
Maya enjoyed doing the craft after story time.
Ben has yet to master the skill of sitting still....

Maya, on the other hand, sat and steadily worked on her craft until it was finished.
Voila! The final product - a doghouse!

Wendy came out a couple of weeks ago; my goal for tomorrow is to upload her pictures to the blog. We had a great visit. Nancy comes this Friday for a long weekend - I don't know who is more excited - me or Maya!

Both Maya and Ben are growing much too quickly. Anxious to see the video. The activities at the local library are wonderful.

miss you all,
